OBITUARY: ECKROAT, Paul H., died Aug. 5, 1992. He was born April 29, 1907, the son of Mary and John Eckroat, and was a lifelong resident of Oklahoma City. Paul was associated with OG&E as an accountant for 17 years, following which he owned and operated a chain of dry cleaning plants. After his retirement, he devoted his time to the management of his commercial properties and investments. As a young boy, at his parents home, he developed a love for gardening, a hobby which he continued during his entire lifetime. Paul was an enthusiastic fisherman and many of the happiest moments of his retirement years were spent on the banks of one of the lakes at his Tuttle, Oklahoma farm. He married Rita Marie McGrath June 17, 1928, who preceded him in death July 11, 1972. He was an active member of Christ the King Catholic Church, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul will be missed by his wife Jane, of 19 years; daughter, Mary Ann Kavanaugh; grandchildren, Sean and Gretchen Kavanaugh, Karen and Lewis Pfenninger, Colleen Kavanaugh of the home; four great grandchildren, Sarah, Stephanie, Brian, and Christina Pfenninger; a brother, Daniel Eckroat; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Oklahoma City. He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather. Prayer services will be 7:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at the church at 10:00 a.m. Friday, Aug. 7, and interment at Fairlawn Cemetery family suggests memorials to the Kidney Foundation of Okla., 5700 N., Portland, OKC 73112.
