Born April 7, 1927, in Vancouver, Wash., Mrs. Gatze worked as a photograph technician and was a homemaker. She had lived in Tracy the past 65 years and was active for many years in the West Side Pioneers Association. Barbara was proud of her heritage, being a member of the Pioneer Sullivan family of Tracy and the central valley. Her father Gordon T. Frank was the owner of Eagle Cleaners in Tracy and her mother Harriet Sullivan Frank Mann was a nurse.
Survivors include her son, Scott L. Gatze of Tracy; brother, Larry Frank of Washington State; and three grandchildren, three grandchildren, Scott E. Gatze of Manteca, Sharlene Gatze of Tracy and Jane Adame of Lafayette.
Her husband of 46 years, Eugene J. Gatze, and her daughter, Nancy Adame, preceded her in death.
Saturday's memorial will begin at 1 p.m. at Fry Memorial Chapel, 550 S. Central Ave. Burial will be private.
