Gary Don Burk Sr., 57, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 15, 2008.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in South Georgia Baptist Church with Sherman Eastland, pastor, officiating. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.

Mr. Burk was born Nov. 6, 1950, in Amarillo to Cecil Elliot and Willie Pauline Burk. He attended Amarillo High School and worked in AISD Carpentry from 1989 to 2000. He and his son, Gary Jr. ran their own construction company, Burk and Associates. His favorite thing to do was to go camping. He loved nature and his grandchildren more than anything.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Burk of the home; daughters, Tanya Scott, Sharon Burris and husband Cash, all of Amarillo; sons, Gary Burk Jr. and wife Diora of Amarillo and Michael Burk of Dallas; grandchildren, Tyson Scott and wife Courtney, Cody Scott, Tori Scott, Ashton Burris, Dashia Burk, Kierstin Burk, Aubri Burk, and Tuff Burk; and a great-granddaughter, Blakleigh Scott.

Floral offerings are to be sent to South Georgia Baptist Church.

Gary Don Burk Sr., 57, of Amarillo died Saturday, March 15, 2008.
