William Abegg was born near Blakesburg, Iowa, August 6, 1863 and died at his home in Kirkville March 23, 1929. On September 22, 1887, he was married to Margaret Slutz of Kirkville, Iowa. To this union one child was born, which died in infancy.
After completing a course in medicine at Iowa City he commenced the practice of medicine in Kirkville in 1894. After practicing medicine a number of years, he organized the Kirkville Savings bank and was its cashier up until the time of his last illness.
He is survived by his wife, and three sisters, Mary Berry of Burlington, Kansas, Mrs. Elizabeth Bone of Albia, Iowa and Miss Susan Abegg and numerous friends and relatives.
Funeral services were held from the home Tuesday afternoon and burial was made in the West View cemetery.
