WEST SPRINGFIELD - Edward H. Meehan, 89, of Mercury Court died Saturday at home surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born in Springfield, lived in Agawam, before moving to West Springfield, where he lived most of his life. He was a Meat Manager for 24 years until his retirement in 1985. A longtime member of the Agawam Fish & Game Club, he also was a member of the Mountain Grove Association in Becket. Edward served in the Merchant Marines during World War II and in the United States Army just after World War II. He leaves his wife of 55 years Felicina (Scevola) Meehan; two daughters Lisa Lonergan and her husband William of Bexley, OH and Linda Meehan of Springfield. He also leaves three grandchildren Christine, Michael and Benjamin. The visiting hours will be held at the West Springfield Curran-Jones Funeral Home Thursday from 4:00 - 7:00pm. A committal service will be held at the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Friday at 3:00pm. For more details, please visit curranjones.com.
