Services Saturday For Mary P. Brown
Mary Pearline Brown, 83, of Coello, died Wednesday at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin, after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Russell Funeral Home in Christopher. The Rev. Carl Leek and the Rev. Richard Lance officiated with interment in Harrison Cemetery. Mrs. Brown was born April 3, 1891 in Illinois, daughter of the late Cal and Samantha Overturf Casey. Mrs. Brown was a resident of Franklin County for 65 years and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Valier.
Surviving are seven children, Earl Furlow, Zeigler, Paul Furlow, Valier, Howard Furlow, Kalamazoo, Mich., Stanley Furlow, San Antonio, Tex., Edith Chapman, Christopher, Doris Leek, Coello, and Pearl Gilliam, Sesser.
She also leaves 21 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; and five sisters and brothers, Bessie Dillow, Cobden, Ethel Brown, Benton, Lavada Teffertiller and Clyde Aaron, both of Mulkeytown, and John Casey, Mayer, Ariz. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louie Furlow, who died in 1942 and her second husband, Jesse Brown, in 1963.
