Phyllis was born in Seattle to Maurice Conway and Garland Taylor in 1926. She had a twin brother Phillip. The family moved to Issaquah around 1930. Her father was a seafaring man and not seen around Issaquah very much. Phyllis had five brothers and one sister. Later Phyllis married Lester Howard. A daughter and son, Linda Leslie and Neal were born. Phyllis divorced Lester Howard and later married Joseph Chevalier and they had a son, Richard. Phyllis worked at the Red and White Grocery and The Grange Store, both in Issaquah. Later she worked at Boeing for many years. Having divorced Joseph Chevalier she married Marvin Olmstead. She moved to Renton in 1968.
