Billie, 50, Chicago, former Herrin and West Frankfort resident,died from tuberculosis at her sister's home in Chicago.

She was a member of the Herrin First Baptist Church. Her husband, Scott preceded her in death last March.

She leaves five sisters, Mrs. W.C. McCutcheon of Birmingham, Al, Mrs. Ethel Hazel of South San Gabriel, Ca., Mrs Frances Hart & Mrs. Nina Auld of Chicago and Mrs. Bonnie Carter of East St. Louis, IL.

Services were held at Walker Funeral Home in West Frankfort with the Rev. W.A. Shoopman pastor of Herrin Baptist Church officiating. Burial in Denning Cemetery.

Note* Willie Echo (Crowell) Brake was called "Billie" and she married Scott Brake. Her gravestone is in error. It should read Billie E. Brake.
