Our subject was born in Simpson County, Ky., January 6, 1857 and died January 19, 1929, aged 72 years. She was married to Joel D. Simmons to which was born 9 children, 4 boys and 5 girls. She is survived by 8 children, and a number of grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Deceased for the past few years has made her home in our town with her son, Charles Simmons.
She was a member of the Church of Christ, and had identified herself with the local church. Because of her faithfulness and regularity in the services, she will be missed by us. The writer has learned to appreciate her in his services; I believe she was a good woman.
The text used in the funeral service was: For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, a house not made with hands. Eternal in the Heavens.
