Mildred was very acrobatic in her younger days and that was what caught Fred's eye. She was very beautiful, too and Fred fell madly in love with her. They sing together, they laughed together, and together they raised a family of 6 kids. Mildred was the care-taker of the house and kids while Fred worked hard to feed and clothe them. They never had a whole lot while raising all us children but they were happy and loved one another dearly. Times were rough especially doing the depression but they made it. They never took a vacation in their whole live and only stayed in a motel room one night in their whole life. Mildred was a good mother and loved her kids more than anything. She had a beautiful voice and fantastic ear for music. She gave up a chance to be a country singer in Nashville for us kids. She will never be forgotten. I never realized how hard it was to be a mother till I had kids of my own. I don't know how she managed all of us but she did. She was a homemaker and she loved her family. I wish I had told her how thankful I was to have her for my mother. I love you and miss you very much, mom! Your daughter, Kaye
