Harry Harkins is 2nd son of Robert Eugene & Ollie (Green) Harkins He had resided in West Frankfort 35 years.

He married Beaulah May Sheppard in Johnston City, Il on 18 Oct 1922. To this union was born four sons, Robert Harry Jr, Ralph Huie, Roy Herman, Ronald Howard and one daughter Edna. Edna died at birth. He was a coal miner and employed at Peabody 40. He was a member of the Trinity Methodist Church and the local Masonic Lodge. Harry died of heart attack.

He was survived by his wife and 4 sons Robert of Fairfield, Ralph of Valier, and Roy and Ronnie at home, 5 brothers; Paul, Louie, Earl, Joe, & Fred Harkins and a half-sister Ollie Mae (Richards) Browning.

Services were in charge of Walker Funeral Home
