Services for Earl C. Anderson, 93, of Brownsboro will be 10 a.m. Friday, May 24, 2013, in the chapel of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Weems officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Rock Hill Cemetery.
Born on Dec. 15, 1919, in Brownsboro to the late G. Pat and Myrtle Fleming Anderson, he passed away Monday, May 20, 2013, in Tyler.
He served in the infantry, 103rd Division, during World War II and received a Bronze Star. Earl retired from the United States Air Force as a master sergeant and from Civil Service at Lackland Air Force Base. He was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church and had been a Master Mason since 1951. Earl was past master and lifetime endowed member of both the Harlandale and Brownsboro Masonic lodges. He was a Scottish Rite endowed member and a member of the Scottish Rite club of Henderson County. In 1985, he was the Masonic district deputy and in 1994 received the Golden Trowel Award for exceptional service from the Brownsboro Masonic Lodge.
Earl was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star since 1953 and had dual memberships in the Harlandale and Frankston chapters OES and was an Endowed Member of the Frankston chapter OES. Earl was past patron of the Harlandale and Brownsboro chapters OES and the Frankston chapter of OES twice. He held numerous grand appointments over the years, having served on the Harlandale Order of Rainbow for Girls Advisory Board for 15 years and was a member of the Grand Cross of Colors ORG.
Earl was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Anderson; a son, Frank Anderson; and a son-in-law, Bruce G. Ridgley Jr.
Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Frances Ridgley, of San Antonio, Martha and William Bloss, of Winterville, N.C.; and two grandsons, Robert Ridgley, of San Antonio, and Paul Bloss, of Charleston, S.C.
Honorary pallbearers will be Masons of Brownsboro Lodge No. 1051.
