Edward L. Carpenter, 67, of Pine Bank, died at 4:18 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1979, at the Greene County MemorialHospital after a long illness.
He was born August 25, 1912, in Gilmore Township, the son of the late Charles E. and Mary Willard Carpenter.
On October 10, 1936, he married Eva Hixenbaugh Carpenter, who survives.
He was a truck driver for T.G. Walker for several years prior to his retirement, and served as road supervisor for Gilmore Township. He was the secretary of Pine Bank Cemetery, and was affiliated with the Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Carpenter is survived by two brothers, John Carpenter of Waynesburg, and Robert Carpenter of Pine Bank; and several nieces
and nephews.
A brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
Friends of Edward L. Carpenter, 67, of Pine Bank, who died on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 1979, will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 P.M. and Friday from 2 to 4 P.M.
and 7 to 9 P.M. at the Robert L. Lantz Funeral Home, Rogersville, where services will be held at 1 P.M. Saturday, with Rev. Forrest D. Rowles officiating.
