Obituary:

Mrs. Amy Johnson Bright, 84, a resident of Idaho for the past 61 years, died Friday, April 24, of causes incident to age.

Mrs. Bright was born November 7, 1879 at Richmond, Utah, a daughter of Jens Christian and Maria Johnson, the father a native of Denmark and the mother, Norway. Her childhood was spent in Richmond and she married John Monroe Bright March 5, 1902 in the Logan LDS Temple. They lived in Richmond, Utah for a time and came to Teton, Idaho and lived there during the time homesteads were taken up. The Bright family came to Rigby in 1922 and purchased a farm two miles west of town, where they made their home until his death in 1943. Later Mrs. Bright bought a home of First South and lived there until her health failed.

Mrs. Bright worked as a counselor in the Relief Society, and as a visiting teacher in Bybee Ward and continued her church interests after moving to Rigby. She was an excellent homemaker, a devoted mother and grandmother.

Immediate survivors are a son and two daughters, Clifford M. Bright, Mrs. Delbert (Melba) Kinghorn, Rigby and Mrs. Murray (Delia) Harper, Knob Noster, Missouri. There are 12 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Surviving brothers and sisters are: Nettie J. Robinson, Preston, Idaho, Alvin Johnson, Richmond, Utah, Austin Johnson, Idaho Falls, Mrs. Edith J. Anderson, Salt Lake City. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Ward chapel with Bishop Bruce Eckersell conducting. Bishop Nyle Kinghorn gave the family prayer. Meditation music was played by Nola Jensen and the opening song "Softly and Tenderly" was sung by Chloe Zundel, Rose Henry, Merle Lofthouse, Leda Madsen, June Bishop and Nadine Warner with Carol Peterson, accompanist. They also sang the closing song "Peace I Leave With You". A vocal duet "Sundown" was sung by Edythe Casper and Elayne Clark, accompanied by Clifta Tobler.

The invocation was given by Preston Wheeler The life sketch by Claris Taylor. Speakers were Bishop Alva Lewis, Blackfoot and O. A. Snow. A vocal number "In the Garden" was sung by Thora Johnson and Edna Bright, accompanied by Norma Garn.

Bishop A. Vernon Ball, Lewisville gave the benediction and the dedicatory prayer at Pioneer Cemetery was given by Justin Erickson.

The Rigby First Ward Relief Society presidency took charge of floral tributes and were assisted by relatives and friends.

Pall bearers were Bishop Nyle Kinghorn, Duane Harper, Lyle Taylor, Martel Taylor, John W. Casper and Bishop Dallan Clark.

Many out of town relatives and friends were here for the services.
