The 5th of 7 children, Sharon was the daughter of Ward E. and Lydia L. (Allen) Newton. She married John W. Clark and from that union four children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward & Lydia Newton; 3 of her 5 sisters, Billie Jean (Newton) Saulka, Beverly Jo (Newton) Hobbs, and Mary Nell (Newton) Fullwood; her son, Ronald "Ronnie" Clark, in 2011; and a granddaughter, Sharon Marie Nila in 1982.
She is survived by her husband, John Clark; 3 of her 4 children, Kimberly, Sherry & Charles; 3 grandchildren, Shavonne, Joseph, & John Michael; 4 great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Johnny, E.J., & Liliana; 2 sisters, Marion & Toni; a brother, Charles; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives. Sharon Arlene Clark, born, December 18, 1941 died April 23, 2013. In loving remembrance of a beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend. Sharon was born in Kennett, Mo., but lived in the Palm Springs area for the past 50 years. Sharon was a former employee of Bird Products and Springs Ambulance both in Palm Springs. Survived by her husband of almost 54 years, John Clark of Palm Springs, sisters Toni Bermudez, Marion Christian, brother Charles Newton, children Kimberly Clark, Sherry Clark, and Charles Walters-Clark, three grandchildren John Gush III, Shavonne Rivas, and Joe Nila, four great grandchildren Elijsha Alonso, Jeramiah Alonso, Johnny Clark Alonso, and Liliana Alonso. Services to be held May 4th, 10:00AM at Wiefels and Son's Morturary in Palm Springs. Burial will be on May 6, 2013, 8:30AM at Desert Memorial Cemetary in Cathedral City. In lieu of flowers, donations to help the family in their time of need would be greatly appreciated.
