Bessie H. Burford, 89, of Bessemer, AL, formerly of Marks, retired third grade teacher for Quitman County, died of heart failure Wednesday, July 10, 1995, at the Bessemer-Carraway Medical Center. Services were at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 22, at the Marks United Methodist Church where she was a member, with burial in Marks Cemetery. Kimbro Funeral Home had charge.
Mrs. Burford was also a member of the James Gilliam chapter Daughters of the American Revolution.
Mrs. Buford, the widow of Richard Homer Buford, leaves a daughter, Bonnie Burford Obert of Bessemer; a sister, Eva McCuiston of Winter Haven, FL and four grandchildren, Bonnie Bess Obert, Evan Jean Obert, Jeffrey Obert, and Laura Leigh Obert.
