He was born in Henry County on July 22, 1906, a son of the late Walter and Sallie "Bet" Prillaman Jarrett.
He retired in 1970 from Bassett Furniture Industries after 49 years of service.
He was a member of Blackberry Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Minnie Foley Jarrett of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Hazel) Corum of Bassett; two sisters, Mrs. Ruby Bray of Martinsville and Mrs. Ada Clifton of Collinsville; three brothers, Frank Jarrett and Ross Jarrett, both of Bassett, and Russell Jarrett of Rainelle, W. VA.; two grandchildren, and one great-granddaughter.
