Funeral Services for Charles Edwin Hammersley, 35, of 4629 Fort Ave., will be conducted at 4 p.m. today at Virginia Funeral Chapel, with burial at Fort Hill Memorial Park. The president of Charles Hammersley Motors Inc., he died at 4:30 p.m. Friday at Lynchburg General Hospital after an illness of three days. Before entering business for himself, he was associated with his father, J.S. Hammersley, and his brother, Kenneth Hammersley. Born in Lynchburg he was the son of James S. and Annie Brown Hammersley, who survive him. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Woodmen of the World, the Travelers Protective Association, and Marsh Memorial Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his widow, Hazel Wiley Hammersley; a son, Charles E. Hammersley, Jr.; a sister, Mrs. D. M. McLaughlin and a brother, Kenneth Hammersley, all of Lynchburg. Members of the family will be at the residence on Fort Avenue.
