enlisted as a solder in CSA as a Pvt. In company "D", 6th Virginia Infantry for
one year. On 4/1862 his enlistment was extended to the end of the war. On
5/13/1863 he was wounded during the battle of Chancellorsville. He received a
gunshot wound to his right hand. On 2/25/1864 he became sick with bronchitis. On
5/24/1864 he was listed as unfit for field service and was detailed to Richmond
Army Depot Post Office. After his service he lived on Bank St. Norfolk. He died
11/28/187 and is buried in Elmwood Cemetery.
