Services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in First United Methodist Church, Brownstown, Illinois with the Rev. Jeff Hurst officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday
with 7 p.m. Masonic service in Claggett Funeral Home, Brownstown , Illinois. Burial will be in Griffith Cemetery, rural Brownstown, Illinois.

He was the owner and operator of the Brownstown Lumber Co. Brownstown, Illinois for 40 years until his retirement in 1984. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Brownstown, Illinois where he served on various committees. He was also a retired member of the Brownstown Volunteer Fire Department, past director of the First National Bank, Brownstown, Illinois member of Masonic Lodge 769 AF & AM, St. Elmo, Illinois, Shrine Ained Temple, East St. Louis, Illinois and Scottish Rite Consistory, Belleville, Illinois.
He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving are his wife, Agnes Bayles; daughter, Cathy Hayes and husband Jerry of Kimberling City, Missouri.; grandsons, Chad Bayles and wife Elizabeth of Collinsville, Illinois; Brian Bayles and Brent Bayles, both of Vandalia, Illinois; great-granddaughter, Danielle; sister, Tascile Becker of Mattoon, Illinois; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Clark, daughter Christy Lynn in infancy, grandchildren, Terri Renae and Trad W. Hayes in infancy; sister, Lucille Pryor.
