James Matthew Demastus, of Trenton, Fla., died Friday (Dec. 9, 2005). He was 69. Mr. Demastus, a heavy equipment operator, was born in Augusta County, Virginia, but moved to Florida in 1965. He is survived by his wife, Cathie Hodge Demastus; his mother, Daisy Demastus of Virginia; three daughters, Vickie Gay of Winter Haven, Fla., Patti Hill of Mount Dora, Fla., and Kathy Leone of Deltona, Fla.; one son, James Randall Demastus of Winter Springs, Fla., and one sister, Louise E. Griffin of Virginia. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one niece, Kimberly Young; a nephew, Keith Griffin; and a greatniece, Hope Young. Mr. Demastus was a member of Joppa Baptist Church in Chiefland, Fla., where he will be buried at 11 a.m. Monday (Dec. 12, 2005). Officiating the memorial service will be Pastor Alpheus Atkins. Family will receive friends at the Watson Funeral Home in Trenton, Fla., from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday (Dec. 11, 2005). Condolences may also be sent to the Watson Funeral Home, P.O.
