Mr. Overturf was a retired money clerk of the Illinois Central Railroad and a retired Jackson County deputy sheriff.
He was a Marine veteran of World War I.
He was born Sept. 12, 1899, at Mills Shoals to George Elsie and Jane Thomas Overturf.
He was married Dec. 25, 1923, in Murphysboro to Ruth Jenkins.
Survivors include his wife of Murphysboro; one son, Ralph Overturf Jr. of Carbondale; one daughter Vida Haacke of Centralia; six grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
One sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Pettett Funeral Home in Murphysboro.
Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Memorial Cemetery near Murphysboro.
