Spencer A. Barnett, 84, of Marion, passed away at 3:45 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, 2008 in Marion General Hospital.
Spencer was born Nov. 24, 1923 in Biscoe, Ark. to the late George and Ellen (Woods) Barnett. He was retired from Atlas Foundry with 21 years of service and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a daughter Lillie Mae Rushing; granddaughter, Shameka Stanley; and a son-in-law, John Fuller; five brothers; and five sisters.
Family includes his wife of 55 years, Florence (Davis) Barnett of Marion; five daughters, Betty Fuller, Houston, Texas, Lerline (Allen) Swizter, Milwaukee, Wis., Dorothy Malone, Marion, Ellen (Gregory) Stanley, Marion, Sharon (Timmy) Clariette, Fort Wayne; four sons, Aaron Barnett, Marion, Sammie (Linda) Barnett, Seattle, Wash., James Barnett, Seattle, Wash., Robert (Jessica) Barnett, Marion; son-in-law, Bennie Rushing; 26 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon Friday, Jan. 18, 2008 in St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1204 W. 14th St., Marion, Ind. with the Rev. C. L. Adams officiating. Burial is in Estates of Serenity in Marion.
Casey Lloyd Funeral Home, 2901 S. Washington St., Marion, Ind. is in charge of arrangements.
