James F. Arnold, 65, formerly of Decatur and Fort Wayne, died yesterday morning at his home in Delphi. He had been in ill health for some time and was a patient at St. Joseph's Hospital here several times during the past year.
Prior to moving to Delphi 10 years ago, Mr. Arnold lived in Fort Wayne and operated the gas company in Van Wert, Ohio. While at Delphi, he also operated a gas company.
Surviving are the widow, Meriam; three daughters, Mrs. Charold Poinsette and Mrs. Robert Storey, Fort Wayne and Frances, at home; three sons, Traverse (Tad), Paulding, Ohio; J. Robert and John F., both of Fort Wayne; three brothers, Everett, New Haven; Ben, Bryant, and Mark, Kokomo; three sisters, Mrs. Myrtle Bratton, Kokomo; Mrs. Grace Lawess, Muncie; Mrs. Nina Spillman, Bryant; and six grandchildren.
The body is being sent from Delphi to the Klaehn Funeral Home, where friends may call after 7 p.m. today. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Satuday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Rev. Stanley L. Manoski officiating. Burial will be in Catholic Cemetery.
