Calvin Kenneth Farmer, 86, of Lynchburg, passed away February 2, 2012. He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Aileen Fitzgerald Farmer.

Born April 15, 1925, in Madison Heights, he was the son of the late William and Janie Thomas Farmer.

Mr. Farmer was a United States Navy WW II veteran, and was a former member of American Legion Post 274, in Madison Heights. He was retired from General Electric. Survivors also include his daughter, Vickie Scaggs and husband Stephen, of Midlothian; and his sister, Margaret Parker, of SC; two grandsons, Ashby Scaggs, of Portland, Oregon, and Nathaniel Scaggs, of Midlothian, several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 12-1:00 p.m. on Monday, February 6, 2012, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. A funeral service will be follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Memorial Park., with military honors by American Legion Post 16. The family would like to thank Avante, of Lynchburg, for the care given to Mr. Farmer during his stay there. In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions to the charity of your choice .
