Barbara Bevin, 93, of Bevin Court, East Hampton, passed away Thursday, (July 18, 2002) at Chestelm Health and Rehab, Moodus.

She was born in East Hampton, December 18, 1908, daughter of the late Marshall and Grace (Dwight) Bevin and had resided in East Hampton all her life.

Before her retirement Barbara was the co-owner of the former Rest Haven Convalescent Home, East Hampton. She was a member of the East Hampton Congregational Church for over 80 years. Barbara was a Pharmacist Mate First Class having served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

She is survived by a sister, Sylvia B. Neumann of Haverford, PA; a nephew, Abner G. Bevin Jr. MD of Chapel Hill,N.C.; two nieces Laura Day Zschock of Stony Brook, L.I.NY, Barbara Ann Babb of Edgecomb, ME. She was predeceased by two brothers, Gordon D. Bevin and Abner G. Bevin.

Funeral services will be Monday, 2 p.m. at the East Hampton Congregational Church with the Rev. William Hodge officiating.

A committal rite and entombment in the Bevin mausoleum will follow in Lakeview Cemetery, East Hampton. Calling hours will be Monday 10-12 noon at Barbara's home on Bevin Court. Spencer Funeral, 112 Main St. East Hampton has care of arrangements. Published in The Hartford Courant on July 20, 2002
