PALMER - Rita A. (Graveline) Wright, 82, formerly of Palmer St. in the Three Rivers section of Palmer, died peacefully on Saturday, January 19 in South Hadley. Born in Palmer, January 26, 1930, she was the daughter of Joseph and Stephanie (Authier) Graveline and lived in Palmer most of her life. She worked in customer service at the former Tambrands Corp for 20 years before retiring. She was a communicant of the former St. Ann's Church and served as choir director for a time. She enjoyed puzzles, bowling, golf, and travel. Besides her parents and numerous siblings, her husband Eugene preceded her in death in March 2012. She will be deeply missed by her children, Barbara Merchant and husband Kenneth of S. Hadley, and Paul Wright and wife Denise Spence of Amherst, along with a brother, Joseph P. Graveline of Palmer, sisters in law Jacqueline Graveline of Palmer and Eleanor Beaudry of Charlton, grandsons Timothy Merchant and wife Amy, Jonathan Merchant, Leo and Owen Wright and 2 great grandchildren, Tyler and Kylee Merchant. Calling hours will be Wednesday, January 23 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 4:00 p.m. in the funeral home. At the family's request, please omit flowers and make donations to The American Lung Association .
