James R. Conley Sr. of Rolling Meadows James R. Conley Sr., 85, passed away Jan. 26, 2013, at Northwest Community Hospital. Jim was born Oct. 11, 1927, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Andrew Jackson and Ruth Lorraine (Crampton) Conley. On May 31, 1952, he married Rosemary Loomis, who predeceased him on April 27, 1978. Their only child, James Jr., an attorney, died in 1999. Traned as a photographer after graduation from New Trier High School, Jim spent 37 years with Kraft Foods, mostly in their Glenview Research and Development facility. Jim moved to Rolling Meadows in 1955, and was a member of St. Colette Church. He was a longtime member and officer of the Mended Hearts Organization at Northwest Memorial, which counsels those undergoing bypass surgery, and did volunteer work at area nursing homes and the hospital. Jim is survived by a daughter-in-law, Cindy Birk Conley of Carmi, Ill.; a special friend, Janet Hollatz of Rolling Meadows, whom he dated for 34 years; and a brother and sister-in-law, David and Anne Loomis of Avon, Conn. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, at the Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows. Services will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home, proceeding to St. Colette Church in Rolling Meadows for Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
