NORRIS CITY, Ill. -- William Healy, 83, died Tuesday at White County Hospital after a car and tractor-trailer accident .

He was a farmer. He was a member and trustee of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Sylvia A. (Rumsey); a son, Dean of Norris City; a sister, Ida Mae Southard of Kankakee; a brother, Joel of Norris City; and three grandchildren, Deborah, Phillip and Dennis Healy.

An 83-year-old resident of Norris city, William Healy, died at 9:53 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 1999 at the White County Medical Center following an automobile accident. He was a farmer and a member and trustee of the Macendonia Baptist Church since 1952.
He was born Oct. 20, 1915 in Norris City, the son of Joel and Mattie Evelyn (Snyder) Healy. He married Sylvia A. Rumsey on Aug. 7, 1939, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Dean and Paula Healy of Norris City; a sister Ida Mae Southard of Kankakee; a brother, Joel Healy of Norris City; three grandchildren, Deborah Healy, Phillip Healy and Dennis Healy and his wife, Jessie, all of Norris City; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four sisters: Ruth Ann, Stella, Mary Isabell and Lillie Ellen Healy; and three brothers: George Arnold, Charles Mason and Sammy Healy.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22 at the Ditney Ridge Baptist Church in Norris City with the Rev. C. Ernest Essary, the Rev. Ron Trotter and the Rev. Glenn Payne offficiating. Burial will be in the Ditney Ridge Cemetery. Visitiation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21 at the Campbell Funeral Home in Norris City. The body will lie in state at the church on Friday after noon.
