Annie Elizabeth Burton, 91, of Troy, Tenn., formerly of Cooter, died September 17, 1984, at Baptist Hospital in Union City, Tenn.
Born June 8, 1893, in Hardin County, Tenn., to Jowel and Tennie Hamilton Yancey, she married John Earnest Burton, who died in 1946.
She leaves two daughters: Dorothy Samson of Troy, Tenn. and Corriene Barnett of Poplar Bluff; two sisters: Pearlie DeFord of Poplar Bluff and Delia Croney of Pontiac, Mich.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Luke Howell, James Baker, Howard Burns, Gary Barnett, Johnny Prather and Charley DeFord.
Funeral services were held in the German-Aumon Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 19, 1984 with the Rev. Billy Skinner officiating.
Burial was in the Number Eight Cemetery near Cooter. German-Aumon Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
