He was born May 23, 1894, in Milam County. He was a member of the Caddo Baptist Church there. He moved to Levelland from Milam County in 1935 and operated a laundry until 1951. He then worked for Levelland Compress until his retirement in 1961.
Other survivors include five more daughters, two more sons, two stepdaughters and a stepson, 26 grandchildren, seven step grandchildren and two step great grandchildren.
