Funeral services for Loretta Alexander, 94, who passed away on Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at age 94, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Geo. J. Carroll and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville with burial to follow in Era Cemetery.

She was born near Graham on Feb. 26, 1918, to John and Breckie Ellen Couger.

She had six brothers. Loretta graduated from Graham High School. She worked during World War II for Standard Oil, and was active in the Business and Professional Women's Club in Gainesville.

In 1948, Loretta married Max Kenneth Alexander of Era, a decorated veteran of World War II, who preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2001. Loretta and Kenneth were engaged in farming and ranching in the Era community for many years where both were involved in civic and community affairs including the Era Community Club and the Era Methodist Church.

In recent years, Loretta has resided in Wheeler House in Gainesville and the Willow Bend Assisted Care Community in Denton.

She is survived by four sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
