Juanita Louise Arfstrom, 84, of Rockford, died at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998 in Willows on Main Nursing Center. Born Feb. 24, 1913, in Willisburg, KY, daughter of Luther Ezra and Willa (Colvin) Hale. Lived 70 years in Rockford, coming here from Kentucky and DeKalb. Married Dr. Harold Arfstrom on Dec. 30, 1944; he died in 1979. Member of Grace United Methodist Church. Past secretary of Order of Eastern Star and past secretary of Osteopathic Association. Graduate of Rockford Central High in 1930.

Survivors include daughter, Diane (Ron) Butler of Rockford; daughter-in-law, Bunny Allen of Woodland Hills, CA; sister Barbara Katt of Sherman Oaks, CA; brothers Keith Hale of Fort Wright, KY and Kertis Hale of Rockford; granddaughters, Laura Deskins and Judy Williams, both of Rockford, Jill (Mike) Stittleburg of Kennesaw, GA, Janet (Tom) Moore of Byron, Janice (Rich) Amundson of Stillman Valley and Jennifer (David) Loyd of Columbia, MO; grandsons, Michael Falnes and Ron (Kris) Butler, Jr., both of Rockford, Randy (Mary) Roguski of Ohio, Bart (Sandy) Allen of Charlotte, NC and Jud (Deborah) Allen of Beverly Hills, CA; 19 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two nieces; one nephew; and special friends, Virginia Boyd, Linnea Seidel and Ardath Seidel. Also predeceased by son, James E. Allen; daughter, Gail Roguski; special cousin, William Long; and special friend, Evelyn Allen.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, in Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home, 304 N. Fifth St., with the Rev. Steve Mindrup, pastor of Grace United Methodist Church, officiating. No visitation. Burial in Scandinavian Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Willows on Main or Grace United Methodist Church.
