Funeral for Charles Edward (Ed) WELLS, 70, of 742 Ambler Ave., will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Laughter-North Funeral Home Chapel.

The Rev. F. R. COLE and the Rev. T. R. BEDFORD will officiate, with burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mr. WELLS, a resident of Abilene since 1926, died early Thursday in Hendrick Memorial Hospital. He was admitted Wednesday.

He operated a service station and a used car business at 742 Ambler Ave., where he and his wife lived. Mr. and Mrs. WELLS observed their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27, 1959. They were married in Hunt County.

Before moving to Abilene, they lived in Milburn, Okla. for 12 years, and in East Texas for five years.

Mr. WELLS was born in July, 1890 in Batesville, Ark. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, J. B. and Troy, all of Abilene; three daughters, Mrs. Faye ROACH of Oklahoma city, Mrs. J. T. LEWIS and Mrs. Tommy FOREMAN of Abilene; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dub WILLIAMs, Marshall MULLINS, Harry HOWARD, J. T. CHANEY, Sam MOSER and George W. GLENN. Honorary pallbearers will be old-time friends of Mr. WELLS.
