D/O Herbert & Lillie Wahlstrom Johnson. She grew up on a farm in the Blue Valley and graduated from Bethany College in 1936. She taught English and mathematics for several years before going to work for Braniff Airways in Wichita as a radio operator during World War II. While working in Wichita, she met returning WWII veteran Harold Oliver Lindeblad at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. They were married Nov. 27, 1947 in the Mariadahl Church near her home. She accompanied her husband to seminary and he was ordained into the ministry of the Lutheran Church in 1950. They served their first call in Centerville, Iowa from 1950-52 and spent the remainder of their ministry at Emanuel Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, until Oliver's retirement in 1983. Roberta taught school in Hutchinson as well as serving in many capacities as a pastor's wife; teaching Sunday school and confirmation, singing in the choir, serving as church secretary, hosting gatherings and welcoming guests at the parsonage. Roberta was an avid sports fan. She and Oliver were regularly in attendance at Hutch Juco and high school ball games. She also loved to read, write, garden, entertain guests, e-mail friends and travel. Roberta and Oliver took many extended camping trips together. They recently moved from Hutchinson to Wichita to live near their daughter.
