Carolyn was born and raised in LaGrange Georgia. She attended Shorter College and graduated from Mercer University. She taught school for several years in Macon and LaGrange. She married Don McClanahan in 1962 and they lived in Austin Texas where she continued teaching. They moved to Atlanta in 1967. In the last several years she was a volunteer ESL teacher at Dunwoody Baptist Church. She was a sweet and loving person who made a lasting difference to all that knew her. She was happily married to Don for 42 years. She was dedicated to her children, Pat McClanahan of LaGrange; and Sally McClanahan Boswell of Hendersonville, TN; and her grandchildren, Lauren and Andrew Boswell. Her sister Ginger Thompson resides in LaGrange.
