Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons, Randy "Bo" Holman, Jeff Holman, Joe Holman, Bruce Holman, Dylan Mims and Robert Mims. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Charles Ozborn and Deacons and members of her beloved Sapa Baptist Church.
She was born in Eupora Ms. to the late Lester and Cordie Henley. Also preceding her in death were her husband Raymond Bowen; daughter Sue B. Holman, and son in law Billy J. Holman.
She is survived by grandchildren Randy "Bo" Holman, Jeff Holman (Julie), Joe Holman (Dianne), Lisa Mims (Morri), and Bruce Holman, all of Columbus, Ms; eight great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Earlean worked for Wards in Eupora for many years and later worked for the Ms. State Dept. of Welfare as the manager of their food stamp program. However it was not until 1957 that she found her true calling. What began as a small home based business venture soon grew into a business known far and wide, "Bowens Antiques". Because of her business savvy and her engaging personality, Mrs. Bowen became lovingly known as "The Antiques Lady" throughout much of the United States. She was an active member of the Sapa Baptist Church where she served as Treasurer for over 45 years. She was a member of the Eupora Rotary Club and a strong supporter of the Eupora Arts Group. She never missed an opportunity to support the area schools, sports programs, youth groups and families in need.
In 2005 she served as Grand Marshall of the Eupora Christmas Celebration parade. In honor of her community contributions and accomplishments, the Webster County Development Council presented her with their very first Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.
