Billy Joe Huffman 82, of Raceland went to be with the lord on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland KY.

Billy was born on June 18, 1930, in Ironton, OH., a son of the late Charles Franklin and Lois Archey Huffman.

He was a retired yard conductor for C.S.X. Railroad, a member of the United Transportation Union, a U.S. Army Veteran and attended the Worthington First Church of the Nazarene.

He was preceded in death along with his parents, by a brother Bob Huffman.

He is survived by his wife Janet Dolores Wheeler Huffman of Raceland, two sons, Robert Wesley Huffman and his wife Ruth Gail of Grayson, and Barry Joe Huffman and his wife Lynda of Virginia Beach, VA., a daughter, Renata Huffman Boggs and her husband Ira Edgar of Raceland, four granddaughters, Ashley Huffman, Jessica Boggs, Katlyn Huffman and Kaley Huffman, a brother, Charles E. Huffman and his wife Phyllis of Raceland, two sisters, Sue Brown of Raceland and Lucy Adkins of Flatwoods, a sister in law, Sharon Gilley Huffman of Raceland, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday November 17, 2012, at Wright's Funeral Home in Greenup, by Brothers David Gee and Paul Neal. Burial will follow in the Huffman Cemetery in Argillite KY. Military graveside rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 23.

Visitation will be at 6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
