Mrs. Helen Laverne Garrett, age 90, of Dyer, Tennessee, passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

Funeral services for Mrs. Garrett will be conducted on Wednesday, November 7, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Karnes & Son Funeral Home of Dyer with Bro. John Coleman and Bro. Randy Latch officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Cemetery of Dyer.

Mrs. Garrett was born November 26, 1921, in Gibson County; the daughter of the late Leroy and Beulah Moore Bond. She was a homemaker and member of New Bethlehem Baptist Church.

Mrs. Garrett is survived by her sons, Ronnie Garrett and wife Sue, Joe Garrett and wife Judy; five grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her spouse, Farris Garrett, her son, Sherrod Garrett, one sister, Wilma Pittman and brother, Virgil Bonds.

The family will receive friends from 5:30-9:00 on Tuesday, November 06, 2012. Karnes & Son Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Mrs. Helen Laverne Garrett.
