Wife of William Brown Curtiss, married October 10, 1894 in Sangamon County, Illinois.

Daughter of Colin H. Foster and Lucy Armstrong Foster.

Mother of Alan Foster Curtiss, Frederick Curtiss and Sue Curtiss Dennis.

"Grandma's maiden name was Foster and her mother's maiden name was Armstrong. They were from Michigan. Dearborn, I think and had something to do with hotels. Grandma (Gertrude) had seven brothers and they all died of TB. One was married and lived in Springfield. I can barely remember being there as a little kid. There was a real old electric car in the barn. There was a daughter that they called "Puss". I don't know what her real name was. I
think Puss ended up in Florida near Aunt Sue. I think that she is in that picture of Grandpa and Grandma's 50th wedding." By: Richard "Dick" Curtiss
