My beloved Aunt Linda, my mother's only sister, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, after a short illness.

Linda was the youngest daughter of the late Dorsey and Mary Elizabeth Cassidy Sandifer and the widow of Donald E. Greene, Sr.

Surviving are her four children: Donna (Dale) Rector of Grayson, Georgia; Don (Susi) Greene, Jr. of McDonough, Georgia; Lori (James) Lehr of Cardington, Ohio; and Deanna Greene and Molly Kesmodel of Decatur, Georgia.

She is also mourned by her big sister, Ann (Henry) Dykstra, her little brother, Dody (Leslee) Sandifer, and her sister-in-law, Judy Sandifer.

Also surviving are six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Linda was predeceased by a beloved older brother, Sherrill Edwin Sandifer, and an adored cousin, Darlene Joy Harvey Adams.

Linda was a dedicated volunteer at the Southeast Gwinnett Cooperative Ministry, and a longtime member of Grace Snellville.

She was a committed Christian and a fine lady, a wonderful wife and mother, a thoroughly devoted grandmother, a dear daughter and sister, and a delightful aunt.

Several years after the birth of her daughter, Lori, who is deaf, Linda became fluent in American Sign Language. She signed for many church services and events throughout the years. Her strong but slender hands were delicate, graceful, and effortlessly eloquent.

She will be greatly missed and never forgotten.

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

I Corinthians 15:26 and 55-57

REMEMBRANCE

When I am gone
Please remember me
As a heartfelt laugh,
As a tenderness.
Hold fast to the image of me
When my soul was on fire,
The light of love shining
Through my eyes.
Remember me when I was singing
And seemed to know my way.
Remember always
When we were together
And time stood still.
Remember most not what I did,
Or who I was;
Oh please remember me
For what I always desired to be:
A smile on the face of God.
