I have been "hunting dead people" (my children's term for genealogy) for almost twenty years. I work on my genealogy files daily. I have made contact with many wonderful, helpful fellow genealogists who were family and exchanged information with them. Others were not family; just kind, helpful people who were happy to help me.
I have on rare occasions encountered some real stinkers, one who was only interested in my information to further his cause. This poor 'psychopath' doesn't have a clue as to the real meaning of family.
Now that I'm retired, I use Find-a-Grave daily and it has helped me to connect a very large number of my family members.
Although I now live in North Carolina, I do family research from coast to coast in the USA. My hope is that the connections I make will help others to find their family.
