I will keep using the old Find A Grave until I am forced to go to the new format.

Please do not transfer memorials to me unless I request it!! (Lisa)

I am currently going through county courthouse book Volume 3 (1925-1936) for 1925 deaths. [as of 8-19-17]

Mission Statement: A community of volunteers cooperating to re-unite families.

I often offer forward "edits" via the "edit tabs" for information I discover in genealogical research, based upon records. I will not be offended if my edit suggestions aren't accepted. Feel free to contact me for further explanation, or documentation of historical records, if you would like a resource for any edit I suggest.

FAG allows YOU to upload a copy of the death certificate to any memorial. Please refer to the FAQs to learn how to do it.

I would be pleased to transfer memorials to anyone who is family, EXCEPT my own.

I appreciate edits as they improve the memorial pages.

If you leave me a public message or SAC, please include the memorial so that I know who you are referring to. Please add memorial # you are referring to when leaving message.

I hope that the entries I have posted will be that "Needle in the Haystack" someone has been searching for.

Link the spouse to the surviving spouse in case the surviving spouse remarried.

I also try very hard not to 'duplicate', but every now and again, one gets through.

CHECK YOUR EDIT TABS OFTEN. It only takes few minutes and allows us to all go forward in our research and connecting family and other people with their families.

Not all my listings are family so ask to see if a transfer is possible.

RE: James Foster Kemp
I have done some more research, and I believe JFK was born in Wilson Co., TN and died in Roodhouse, Greene Co., IL. His birthplace is listed as TN in the US censuses of 1850, 1860, and 1880. So, I am going with a TN birthplace.

Thank you, though, for bringing to my attention that I did not have the location for JFK's birth and death places in Find A Grave. I probably did not know them when I created the memorial.

I will decline your edit suggestion, because I do think TN birth and IL death is the correct information. But thanks for the jog to enter this information into Find A Grave. I had it in my Ancestry tree.

BTW, JFK is my third great grandfather. Are you related as well?

James Foster Kemp
Hi, Mark,

I received your recent edit suggestion regarding James Foster Kemp (Find A Grave memorial #71242833). I certainly believe James must have died in IL, but I am in doubt that he was born in IL, because his mother, Ann Baird Kemp, died in 1827 in TN, when James was just about two years old. I believe James was born in TN.

I believe there exists some census information from much later (I think 1860) that places James' birth as IL, but it just does not make sense to me, and census record are fraught with errors. James' father remarried and relocated to IL (possibly not in that order) after James' mother's death.

Could you tell me why you believe that James was born in IL? I will, in the meanwhile, put in IL as his place of death, as that makes perfect sense to me.

Thanks, Mary Simonelli (Find A Grave# 47915293)

Thanks for the edit request to add their state of birth. I declined your entry, but went to each of them and added County and State.

They are my 2g grandparents and I've just overlooked changes to their memorials. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.

You sent me a proposed edit to link her parents.

Many errors are occurring on FG memorials due to inaccurate "Edits."

Please provide a verifiable primary source (such as a book, will, obituary, birth/marriage/death certificate, or family Bible record) for links on her memorial.

I will give you credit and would like to add your source (not an on-line tree) to her memorial.

Thank you for corrected information on Keith Chilton. His widow Erin went on to California after his death and died there in 1958.

Thank you for the heads up concerning this memorial. The fault goes to the engraver who should have put T G Smart on the gravestone. Not G T Smart.
Memorial has been deleted.

I have a better photo, and the marker does say 1830. If you would like a copy of the photo, I would be glad to send it to you. Thanks.
