I am a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer with over 29 years of service. I am also the wife of a retired US Army soldier. SUPPORT THE TROOPS!!!! Please Honor all our military without complaining on memorials!

My memorials are lopsided as I manage two deceased cousins' contributions to Findagrave and the gracious transfers of two relatives and friends.

If Findagrave does not approve of comments in our profiles, they DO access our profiles and delete comments and some of our flowers in our scrapbooks.

TRANSFERS: Memorials are transferred for relatives with these close relationships: child, spouse/partner, sibling, parent, grandchild, great-grandchild, grandparent, great-grandparent, niece/nephew, great-niece/nephew, aunt/uncle, great-aunt/uncle, or first cousin. This would include adoptive, step and in-law versions of these relationships.

DEATH CERTIFICATES are welcomed on my memorials as they are in the public domain and, although at times there are errors, they can provide a wealth of information. Although some, but not all, death certificates are available for free on FamilySearch.org, I add them so individual's who cannot afford ancestry.com have access to their relative(s) documents. It's my way of paying forward. And now Findagrave is owned by ancestry.com.

CENSUS RECORDS: Please DO NOT post copies of Census records on my managed memorials. They are accessible on free websites and take up space on memorials for more pertinent images.

"I have been concerned about obituaries being added so I contacted Findagrave and this was their response." "Greetings... Since the move to Ancestry and the new website, newspaper obituaries, death certificates and other scanned documentation is allowed. We encourage members to move the images down to the bottom of the photo display so that they are not the first thing you see when viewing a memorial page.

SUGGESTIONS: For those making suggestions, please research and provide the researched information for me to update. Additionally, if someone has a duplicate memorial, courtesy is to ask that individual to delete it FIRST before asking Findagrave to get involved.

Going forward, I don't appreciate being bullied and will IGNORE such emails, NO matter how many times you write. Emails of this nature will be forwarded to Find a Grave ADMIN.

MILITARY RANK: I will add military rank to a service member's memorial in two situations: 1. If the person retired from the military, or was 2. Killed in action while in service. [2/14/2021: Just found today the Nationwide Gravesite Locator website isn't always correct for marker engravings. You really need a photo to verify!]

HEADSTONE PHOTO VOLUNTEERS-If you volunteer and post headstone photos, please take a photo of the COMPLETE marker. I find more and more that some individuals crop the bottom of the markers off - especially on military grave sites, which does an injustice to our veterans. You took the time to take the photo, then PLEASE take the time to crop & post the headstone photo correctly.

When I accept a photo request, I WILL take both sides of the headstone should there be 2 individuals in the same grave. No need to request a 2d photo for the wife/husband/child.

Working together is a whole lot better than working by yourself:-)

SSDI-Regarding the "Last Residence" in the SSDI: This is the last address of record, not necessarily where the individual died. Please do not ask me to list it as the place of death on memorial pages - to do so would only be a guess.

I work hard on Findagrave and have sponsored quite a few memorials. Please be a contributor and not just a person who adds names. It's great to see the people who do provide research.
