I was born and raised in West Frankfort, Il. My father and mother are Fred and Mildred (Southerland) Harkins. My family came from Alabama, Kentucky, and North Carolina. My husband's family came from Tennessee and North Carolina. I have been told that my ancestors originated in Ireland & Scotland,but I have yet to travel across the ocean on this internet or by any other means to substantiate it. I am getting close though! I am researching, Harkins, Green, Galloway, Misskelly, Crowell, Southerland/Sutherland, Sullivan, Newcomb, McDaniel, Guthrie, McClintock, Ice, Fleming, Martin, Willhite, Nolen, Reach, Carr, Yates, and Davis, to name a few. Any information or help on these surnames is most welcomed and I will be sure to do you the favor in kind.I am sure this FAG website is going to become a really fantastic site, especially if everyone takes special care when adding information concerning each soul that is memorialized.
