Thank you to all the people who were involved in creating Findagrave.com and to Ancestry.com, who through their purchase, is working on making the site even more user friendly.

I also applaud all of the volunteers whom have added information to the site through the various suggested edit fields or posting documents and/or pictures to the memorials. I encourage this sharing of information, as it makes a memorial more complete in an attempt to make it more accurate. I can't leave out those whom have added a memorial to this site to help others find their deceased relatives.

Those whom have added tens or hundreds of thousands of memorials have an unimaginable burden on them to constantly try to keep their memorials up to date. My one wish is that Findagrave would allow them to turn over their burdensome memorials to Findagrave (before they die if that is what they want), the same as what has occurred with the memorials created by members that have died or are no longer able to be actively updating and/or responding to suggested edits.

This site has always been a place where I enjoy spending my valuable time on Earth, because of how nice and helpful the people are that I encounter on here. I know we don't always agree about what information should be included, but even the closest of friends and family don't agree on everything. Even our own opinions tend to change and evolve over time in our own lives, which is a good thing, because it shows that we can grow through new experiences.

I also want to point out that websites that provide a service and rely on users input, often aren't used exactly how the founder(s) originally intended. This is also (often) a good thing, because our brains just can't anticipate all of the ways that a web tool can be used to help and expand people's lives and their ability to communicate and share information.

I'm old enough to know that nothing is perfect, because this isn't Heaven and we are all flawed individuals just trying to do what we think is right based on our varied experiences on this planet. I respect each and everyone of you because I know that deep down we are all interested in helping others and have given much of our valuable time (as short as it might be) to improve this great website and to make it a valuable resource for other's that have very similar interests to our own.

I do not write any of this information lightly. As of this writing, I have been on this site now for 11 years · 2 months · 2 days and I finally feel like I have something important to say that explains why I choose to be a member of this community.

I hope this message will inspire people to continue to be kind to others by giving them the benefit of the doubt and open the lines of communication between users, so that we can continue (in our own ways) to contribute to this ever evolving tool that connects and informs all of our fellow genealogists across this great diverse world.
