Historically said to have died of pneumonia on either Feb 26th or 28th - but an error on the stone shows February 31st! (which of course there is no such date). But a local legend was that Caroline was put to death for practicing witchcraft... probable a story started because of the unique orb & log stone, along with the impossible death date.
