Mrs. George M. Beasley, native of Williamsburg, County, S.C., and resident of 3310 Cornelia, Greenville, died at noon Sunday in Dallas. She had been ill since May 6, 1959, following a fall which resulted in a broken hip.

Educated in the schools of South Carolina, Mrs. Beasley studied music at New England Conservatory of Music in Boston and taught school for several years in South Carolina. Mrs. Beasley, the former Elizabeth Pittman was born March 13, 1877 and was the daughter of Needham Thomas Pittman and Egeria Rich Pittman. In 1947 she moved to Dallas and for the past 12 years had made her home in Greenville.

At the time of her death she held membership in the First Baptist Church in Greenville.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gray Sorrells and Sons Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Coral V. Roberts and the Rev. Gordon Casad, pastor of Kavanaugh Methodist Church will conduct the services. Burial will be made in Forest Park Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Boone Richards Jr., John W. Williamson, and Jasper L. Wright, Richardson, Patrick H. Hyde, Fort Worth, W.D. Eason and C.A. Rudd, Greenville.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Hardin L. Atkins Jr., Odessa Tex., Mrs Eleanuria Beasley Mastro and Mrs. Strother Richardson, Greenville; eight grandchildren, the Rev. Hardin L Atkins, Santa Rosa, N.M., the Rev. Noble Atkins, Tula Rosa, N.M., Mrs. Charles Bray, Dallas, Mrs. Robert Canterburg, Odessa, Marvin Mastro, Greenville student at TCU, Fort Worth, Mrs. John Tucker, Amarillo, Sidney Richardson and John Richardson, Greenville and other relatives. Her husband, George M. Beasley, and five sons preceded her in death. The body will remain at the funeral home.
