Mabel C. Alvery, 77, of Kingsland, died in a Kingsland nursing home on Sunday, June 21. Funeral services were held in the Evant Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, June 23, with Rev. Stanley Nixon officiating. Burial followed in Murphree Cemetery.

Mrs. Alvery was born in Energy on March 27, 2910. She married Daniel B. "Cokey" "Dan" Alvery on August 8, 1934, in Levelland. He survives her. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

Others survivors include a sister, Mrs. Lorene Cox of Lampasas and a brother, Robert Marshall, also of Lampasas.

Nephews serving as pallbearers were Harold Brown, Kenneth Brown, Morris Brown, Bobby Brown, Stanley Marshall, Ray Brown and Nate Alvery.
