Helen C. Fore Ervin, wife of the late Edwin Conna Ervin, entered into rest on October 20, 2011 at the age of 90. She was born in Rankin, Mississippi to William and Maud Fore. She married the love of her life, Edwin and soon came to know the life of a military wife. Helen was active in many of the clubs and activities for military spouses, especially the Gray Ladies, where she would visit and supply sundries to wounded soldiers. She was caring and compassionate and would make sure other military wives were well taken care of while their husbands served their country. Helen was an amazing cook had many hobbies such as needlepoint, sewing, gardening, and reading. She loved her family and friends deeply and will be sorely missed.
Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edwin C. Ervin; sister, Mildred Jenkins and grandson, Eric Borchard.
Survivors include her children; Helen A. Ervin, Edwin C. Ervin, Jr. and wife Bonnie, Carl Forest Ervin and wife Pat, Diana Carol Ervin Borchard; brother, William Luther Fore, Jr. of Gulfport, MS; grandchildren, Amber, Melissa, Elena, Sarah, Julia and Paul.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 27, 2011 from 5PM to 7PM at Sunset Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Friday, October 28, 2011 at 9:30AM at Sunset Funeral Chapel. She will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
